Announcing The Brand Camp Summit Detroit 10/16-10/23! Making Tech for All People! #brandcamp14



We are excited to announce that the Brand Camp Summit is happening October 16-23, 2014 in Downtown Detroit.  We will be harnessing an extraordinary collection of local and national talent.  There will be 400+ founders, entrepreneurs, investors, developers, designers, tastemakers, startups and brands colliding in Detroit at the intersection of entrepreneurship and technology. This year’s theme is ‘Making Tech for All People’ and our agenda is to birth Detroit’s inclusive startup ecosystem and our keynote is Mitch Kapor the Founder of Lotus and the Kapor Center.

The Summit consist of three parts: canvas (10/16-10/20), conference (10/21) and catalyst (10/22-10/23):

The Detroit Pop-up Dinner – 10/16

The Detroit Pop-up dinner experience is happening on World Food Day and will be an eclectic mix of Detroit entrepreneurs that are transforming the city.  The location is undisclosed but will bring together about 100 of the city’s most interesting minds for good with a portion of ticket sales going to a food driven social good cause.

Hack the D – Hackathon – 10/17-10/19

The ‘Hack the D’ is a Detroit city hackathon that is happening October 17-19, 2014. It is a historic gathering of developers, designers, and entrepreneurs in downtown Detroit for 3-days of hacking designed to develop technology-based solutions for civic challenges in the city of Detroit.

Re-Brand the City: Visual Branding Photo Project – 10/20

A day dedicated to creating powerful stock photography of Detroit’s diverse professional and tech communities at work. The goal is to supply the world with a rich inclusive collection of photos and video in Detroit.

Brand Camp Conference – 10/21

A day of inspiring talks around the topics of technology, entrepreneurship and branding.

Student Ventures Bootcamp – 10/22

It is a one-day entrepreneurship and technology bootcamp designed to expose 150-Detroit high school students to the world of technology, entrepreneurship, coding and startups.

Technology Panel: Building Innovation: Creating an Inclusive Technology Ecosystem – 10/23

As the job markets are evolving more into technology, we want to ensure the face of the technology industry evolves with it as well. Let’s explore creating a workplace that works for everyone and empowers diverse businesses and communities. Join our discussion to help build a technology industry that is more reflective of the global population and more receptive to its needs, and in doing so, raise awareness about issues of diversity and inclusion.
